Yavapai County Options for Police, Fire and EMS Scanners.
The Arizona Highway Patrol uses a statewide UHF repeater system that can be monitored with a basic police scanner.
Many agencies in the Phoenix area use an areawide digital trunked radio system called PRWN (Phoenix Regional Wireless Network), this includes Phoenix PD, Sky Harbor Airport, Tempe, Mesa and others.
In the Tucson area Pima County uses an LTR MultiNet system that can be monitored on a basic police scanner (but there are no scanners that will "track" this system). Tucson uses a mixture of analog and digital VHF channels so a digital police scanner is best here.
In the Flagstaff area most operations are on VHF, this can be monitored on a basic police scanner.
A basic police scanner will work for all county, tribal and local Police, Fire and Ambulance services in Yavapai County, including Prescott and Camp Verde.
A basic police scanner can also be used to monitor the Arizona Highway Patrol and other state agencies.
