Menominee County Options for Police, Fire and EMS Scanners.
Most Wisconsin cities and counties use analog VHF channels that can be monitored with a basic police scanner. Some agencies use digital channels on VHF so a digital police scanner would be needed here. In the Milwaukee area there are several types of systems in use, including Motorola (Waukesha and Milwaukee Counties) and EDACS (Watertown and Ozaukeee County) analog trunked systems that can be monitored on a trunktracking police scanner.
A digital police scanner is needed to listen to the Tribal Police in Menominee County/Menominee Nation, Wisconsin, including Keshena. APCO P25 digital radios are used by police in the county. Most other local police, Fire and Ambulance communications can be heard with a basic police scanner.
To monitor the Wisconsin State Patrol and other state agencies a basic police scanner can be used as they operate on VHF radio networks.
